Daniel Lawrence Broadhead passed away in June 2026, but his story, his impact, and the way he encouraged others to keep moving forward did not end there.

Daniel loved deeply, worked hard, and showed up for the people around him. He was patient, humble, incredibly intelligent, deeply caring, and the kind of person who could make someone believe they were capable of something before they believed it themselves. If you had a dream, Daniel wanted to hear about it, help you make a plan, and remind you to keep going.

Running was a defining part of Daniel’s life. From his years competing in track and cross country at Wayne County High School to continuing his career at Augusta University, the sport gave him a place to push himself, find community, and discover just how much he was capable of.

That connection to running is at the heart of Forward for Daniel.

This fund exists to support underfunded track and field programs and help remove the financial barriers that may keep a young athlete from joining a team or fully participating. That may mean providing running shoes or spikes, uniforms, equipment, meet entry fees, team fees, or other resources that help get an athlete to the starting line.

Because access to a sport can become access to so much more: confidence, discipline, belonging, purpose, and a place to work through the hard things.

Daniel spent his life reminding the people he loved:

“You are so capable.”
